Generic Zombie Shooter - Redux v1.3.1


This update focused on a few quality of life improvements, as well as fixing some minor bugs and rewriting the Stamina system as I felt that it was too boring. While designing the new HUD, I had the idea to use an EKG to represent exhaustion levels and so the new heart rate system was born. The ground work for the score system has been laid out and future updates will see the implementation of a scoreboard.


  • New HUD - The main HUD has been improved to condense the information displayed and it now has a proper graphic instead of static colored rectangles.
  • Stamina Replaced - The stamina system has been replaced by the EKG, which represents the player's heart rate.
    • A heartbeat sound is played at regular intervals. The rapidity of the heartbeat indicates the player's level of exhaustion.
    • The EKG will display your heart rate. The more melee attacks you use, the higher your heart rate will go.
    • As your heart rate rises, you will temporarily lose max HP. It will recover once your heart rate stabilizes.
  • Score - The player's score is now calculated from several different factors of gameplay and is displayed to you after you die on the "you died" screen.
  • Upchuck has been modified so that he can only use his bile attack for about a second before he needs to "recharge", and he will move in to melee attack while it recharges.
  • Talents screen UI updated to include information about how to use it. Adjusted some shop screen elements. Talents not accessible yet are covered by a locked symbol.
  • All money drops have been increased because money was taking too long to accrue.
  • Achievements are now saved every 30 seconds automatically.
  • Made a performance enhancement that should substantially reduce memory overhead in later waves.
  • Bug Fixes
    • Baseball Bat's price is no longer 0.
    • Corrected issue where Starfright, El Salvo, and the Prowler hadn't been properly added to the spawn list.
    • Corrected a bug where El Salvo's explosion would not collide with the player, making him useless.
    • Shop's damage display now correctly takes Talent bonuses into account.
    • Specific weapons have had the effects of the Modder talent disabled.
