Generic Zombie Shooter - Redux v1.4

This update focused on crafting and some visual enhancements to the HUD. A new enemy was also added to spice things up a bit. He won't appear until late in the game, so see if you can figure out who has joined the horde.

Here is a breakdown of the new features:

  • Crafting - The player can now craft new weapons using those old, boring ones. Have a weapon you don't use anymore or feel like it wasn't worth the investment? Invest in the crafting talents and see what crafting recipes are available to you! Here are a few of the recipes available to you:
    • Crossbowgun - Are crossbows just not fast enough for you? Do you not feel like a weapon is worth using unless it has "gun" in its name? Craft this weapon to increase the rate of fire and ammo capacity of the normal Crossbow.
    • Electric Net Cannon - Are the undead getting a little too close for comfort and you feel like you need to kick back for a minute to drink a cold one? Fire off the Electric Net Cannon to wrap a barrier around a group of the horde to stop them in their tracks while you fire at them from behind!
    • Flak Cannon - Tired of boring old regular bullets? Do you have a bunch of scrap metal laying around doing nothing? Craft the Flak Cannon and you can fire off molten bits of scrap metal at the undead and watch them burn!
    • Pipebomb - If explosions just aren't your thing, chuck one of these into a crowd and watch it tear them apart.
  • Glorp! - A new enemy has joined the horde! He can be found in later waves. Killing him only makes him stronger...
  • New HUD - The HUD has been given an upgrade so it's not just a bunch of colored boxes anymore. Now they're beveled, shaded colored boxes!

    • The numbered keys are no longer used for weapon selection, and instead, the Q and E keys can be used to cycle through your available weapons.
  • Gamma Config - The gamma config option always seemed to go unnoticed to players before, causing some confusion as to whether or not you could brighten up the battlefield. Now, the gamma config screen will display on first launch so that the player can choose how dark they want the game to feel.
  • Bug Fixes

    • Corrected an issue where item slots in the shop wouldn't be selected correctly, sometimes causing a slot several rows above or below where the player actually clicked to be selected.
    • Corrected an issue where the HP increase talent was not properly increasing the player's health.

I look forward to trying to get back into a normal development cycle and hopefully the next update won't take nearly as long.
